Enjoy live, professional acting in the unique surroundings of Frankfort’s Red Barn Summer Theatre, a 169-seat venue that was once a cattle barn. This summer, see Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein: The Musical July 11-14 and 17-21. Go early Friday and Saturday nights for pre-show concerts from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. on the theatre’s outdoor stage, weather permitting.

Whether you’re a student hoping to brush up on Spanish before returning to class, or someone who wants to strengthen your conversational Spanish before traveling, you’ll find Indy Reads’ Spanish Conversation Circles a great fit. The light fantastic you don’t want to skip.
The Indy Dance Festival returns to the Butler University campus July 19-21, with public performances on the last two evenings. You’ll see diverse dance styles by artists selected for their storytelling, creative expression and representation of many cultures. The festival also includes masterclasses open to dancers ages 13 and up, public panel discussions, three free community classes for neurodivergent movers ages 8-12, an all-abilities class for ages 13-18, and a class for dancers ages 50 and up.

Enjoy the sweet life in Irvington.
Support the Irvington Historical Society (IHS) on August 4 from noon to 4 p.m. at their annual ice cream social at 5350 University Avenue, Indianapolis. This family favorite brings music and gourmet ice cream to the historic Irvington neighborhood. The IHS Museum at the Bona Thompson Memorial Center is open with free admission that day.

In Putnam County, music reigns supreme.
Voted one of the best events/music festivals in Indiana by the Indiana Tourism Association, the Greencastle Music Festival brings two days of music and entertainment to Putnam County. The festival happens August 23 and 24 on Greencastle’s town square. Tickets are $10 per person per night and kids under 10 are free.
