Bes-Ben: The Mad Hatter of Chicago
Fake cigarettes, plastic fruits and vegetables, and stuffed animals might sound like a collection of items found in the aisles of a Goodwill store but in the mind of Benjamin B. Green-Field they belong atop a women’s head—and celebs like Elizabeth Taylor and Judy Garland agreed. See more than 60 Bes-Ben label hats (many never exhibited before) adorned with such items on display in the Indianapolis Museum of Art Galleries at Newfields exhibit opening April 20.
