Fellow AAA Hoosier Motor Club Members:

What distinguishes a hotel or restaurant that is deserving of your travel time and money? That’s the question that AAA Diamond ratings answer expertly. While AAA had already been inspecting hotels and restaurants for 40 years, in 1977, in honor of AAA’s 75th (diamond) anniversary, the diamond was chosen as the unique symbol for AAA’s rating system – applied first to lodging and later to restaurants. Since then AAA members have placed their trust and respect in the diamonds and rely on the integrity of the Diamond Rating system when choosing accommodations and dining facilities.

When you choose to stay or dine at a Four or Five Diamond hotel or restaurant, you know that you’ll be experiencing the ultimate in luxury and service. While Four and Five Diamond ratings effectively reward the “best of the best” when it comes to hotels and restaurants, you should know that any property with a AAA Diamond award will give you a “best in class” experience, from One Diamond rated venues to Five Diamond. That’s because our inspection process is the most rigorous and respected in the business.

Each year AAA’s staff of professional inspectors conduct on-site, unannounced inspections at more than 60,000 lodging and dining establishments. And AAA is the only rating system that covers the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Establishments that meet AAA member travel needs, provide the highest member value and pass an on-site inspection are assigned a rating from One to Five diamonds and listed in AAA travel information products. The Diamond Ratings represent a combination of the overall quality, range of facilities, physical attributes and level of services offered by an establishment. Less than 0.3 percent of AAA Diamond rated properties receive the prestigious Five Diamond distinction.
In 2019, nine hotels within AAA Hoosier Motor Club’s 50-county Indiana territory earned the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Rating. These facilities are in rare company as only 6.3% of the AAA-inspected and approved hotels achieve the Four Diamond rating. Those 2019 Four Diamond Honorees include:
